WASHINGTON – Mike Davis, Founder and President of the Internet Accountability Project (IAP), today issued the following statement after Elon Musk completed his acquisition of Twitter.
“This is a watershed moment in the fight against Big Tech censorship and marks a significant victory for advocates of free speech. It also highlights that antitrust enforcement and Section 230 modernization is more urgent than ever. Free political expression online shouldn’t depend on the benevolence of billionaires. Legislative action is needed to secure true internet freedom. Public discourse online should include ideas from all sides of the political spectrum, without interference from leftwing Big Tech monopolists who use their social platforms to advance their radical ideological agendas.”
The Internet Accountability Project is a conservative grassroots advocacy organization that opposes Big Tech and seeks to hold these companies accountable for their bad acts.
